C’est le Gallois Stephen Williams (Bahrain Victorious) qui a remporté la 1ère étape du Tour de Suisse à Küsnacht. Au terme des 177 kilomètres, il devance au sprint d’un groupe d’une vingtaine d’unités l’Allemand Maximilian Schachmann (Bora Hansgrohe) et le Danois Andreas Kron (Lotto Soudal). Lâchés dans la dernière montée à 5 kilomètres du final, Daniele Martínez, Rigoberto Urán, Thibaut Pinot et Gino Mäder sont arrivés 51 secondes après le vainqueurStephen Williams ouvre son compteur pour la saison 2022, il avait remporté le Tour de Croatie l’année dernière
